Changing B4YourEyes 118 Posted July 17, 2012 Hi everyone, surgery went well but I have sick since coming to my room yesterday at 1030am. Vomiting everything I put in my mouth, not keeping anything down. Very nauseated. Only walked twice yesterday to sick. Got to stay another night for iv fluids and iv pain meds. Had to go to specials for a Picc line after being stuck 15 times for Iv and labs. Hoping everyone else is doing well.
tara1021 13 Posted July 17, 2012 Ask for zofran for the nausea. I'm surprised they haven't given it to you.
Changing B4YourEyes 118 Posted July 17, 2012 I got the patch behind my ear and they are alternating phnergan and zofran, it is not helping at all.
Chuckles 28 Posted July 17, 2012 I am sorry to hear that. I always have a bad reaction to anesthesia. The only way to get over it is to flush out all the chemicals from your body by sipping liquids and walking. Have someone walk with you if you have to keep your eyes closed due to the nausea. I promise it doesget better.
Ready4success 380 Posted July 17, 2012 Sorry to hear you're feeling so sick. Is your pain still the same as it was right out of surgery? Sometimes, it's the IV pain meds that cause nausea. Do you think you can try going longer without it, like if it's ordered every 4 hours, try going until 6 hrs before asking? If you can't, then you can't, but the sooner you're able to move around, the better you'll start to feel. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs
SweetTee 448 Posted July 17, 2012 Glad to hear surgery went well, I hear the n/v is bad after surgery. That's something I'm not looking forward to. I do hear it gets better. Walk, walk, walk is what everyone says. I hope you start feeling better soon. We will be praying for you. I'm a firm believer that if he brought you to it he will bring you through it. The good thing is you are remaining positive. 2 augustkiwi and soccermomx2 reacted to this
