5 Days Post Op And No Energy.

Recommended Posts

How much was everyone walking at 5 days out?? I walk around my house then need to sit and rest. In the evenings when it gets cooler I walk around in my front yard and to the neighbors driveway.

I wasn't walking a lot at first, not because of pain or anything, but because like you said...I just ran out of steam real quick. The energy will slowly come back, and will get to a point where you're scratching your head wondering where the energy came from. I just hit a energy slump this last week, but I think my Protein is below where it needs to be. Anyways, long story longer...it will get better and you will be walking where ever you want....it just takes a bit of time to get back.

You're perfectly normal. It took a few weeks to get past that stage.

3 Months post op, and if I dont get my Water or Protein, I loose steam.

But just as the day of surgery, I need to walk more, and I dont like walking alone, and if I dont, I sit....and sit...and we know that aint right!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
