How long until I don't have a headache because I cant have caffeine? How long until I eat 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of pineapple for Breakfast and I feel full until lunch? This pain doesn't seem worth it!!!!! (even though deep down I know it is). I have 2 months until surgery and I'm trying to get things straightened out but its sooooooo hard!

Before my surgery, I was always hungry. i had cut my portion sizes in half and thought I would never get pasted it. After surgery, when I realized that I needed to take a PPI, I also realized I didn't reckonize thirst from hunger, I wasn't hungry. I had a lot of head hunger, but that's to be expected. It will pass and the hard part is being patient and not giving in to the negative thoughts your experiencing. It does get better, you are in the hardest part of the journey. :)

When were you sleeved? The avoidance of caffene is largely (my understanding) due to 1)the foods it is found in and 2) you need to avoid the diuretic nature of the drug until you can get enough fluids.

So as long as you are able to drink enough liquids without pushing your sleeve, AND you arent eating chocolate or drinking sodas and coffee wont kill you, I suggest taking half a caffiene pill - that was recommended to me on my 4th week, as I was trying to keep off coffee for at least my forst 8 weeks (I was having a rough time of it).

However, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR, lol...I don't even play one on TV.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
