to my knowlege not alot you can do since it is in response to inflammation and Fluid from the injured and dying cells. I wound't think heat would hurt it tho. As for the bars click on someone's and it will take you to the ticker page then follow the prompts!

more likely hematoma since seromas are more common with major tissue destruction like mastectomy where the lymph drainage system is removed also. I would think its hematoma instead. Either way they do no treat them unless they are large and painful.

did you make it to the ticker factory? When you get there and youve made the ticker cut and paste it onto your signature line.. I used the top code bb something then preview the signature then accept if it looks like you want.. let me know if you need help.

Do not apply heat or do anything special other than call the surgeon if it seems infected or hot or anything like that.

If there is no evidence of seroma, or hematoma, or abcess/infection. Don't bother with heat. There is some belief/evidence by some health care professionals that compression bandaging and minimizing movement of healing areas will decrease risk of seroma. If you do form seroma, hematoma, or abcess - any Fluid buildup - warm/hot moist compress will help disperse it and/or move it to the surface. At the very least it won't hurt. Some Dr.'s say it does nothing, and others advise to do it. Often they will resolve on their own, if not, they need to be drained by a Dr.

I had a seroma...I called my surgeon, he looked at it and put me on keflex a strong antibiotic. It healed up a week after starting the keflex.. if you think you have a seroma, call your sergeon, it should be checked for infection.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
