Tana_Q 20 Posted September 9, 2012 Cograts Andi! My thoughts are with you though I am sure all will be well. Thank you all for your responses.I am now 6 months out and have lost 112 lbs. I have about 50 lbs to go to hit goal but I actually wouldn't be upset if I got pregnant before hitting goal.
jbart0973 19 Posted September 19, 2012 I am considering a revision from band to sleeve. I just turned 39. My band slipped and I either have to have it placed again or do a revision to a different surgery. I want to have another child. I would have lived to be pregnant now but I guess it's for the best since I found out y band slipped. I am pretty bummed that if I have the surgery I will have to wait to get pregnant but I realize that I will have a much healthier pregnancy at a lower weight. My Dr told me he would like me to wait at least a years free the surgery to try to get pregnant because of possible nutrition issues and because you need time to lose the weight. When u told him my concerns that I am 39 and the clock is ticking he said that after 7 months would probably be ok as long as I wasn't having any nutritional issues. So although I would have liked to have had another baby before I'm 40 I have to do what is best to ensure a healthy pregnancy in the future if I am lucky enough to get pregnant. andi0120 41 Posted September 19, 2012 That's good to know. I ask very close to goal. I go to the doctor on Monday. I've been eating really well and I don't feel bad at all. I get the occasional nausea but thanks to my sleeve I can handle it. Haven't gained any weight except around my tummy and my breast are swelling. Have to admit that I was not so happy when I found out I was pregnant. I was using protection and my boys are 14 & 16. After reading ask the post on this forum of women who are waiting to get pregnant I realize how much a blessing this is. Please keep me in your prayers. My other two pregnancies were really easy. Of course I was a lot younger and didn't have surgery. Now I am praying for a healthy baby.

EvyV 0 Posted November 16, 2012 Hi girls, i am 40 now and got sleeved in july. My concern its also my biological clock so i asked my dr. right before to get into the operation room when can i start trying to have a baby and he said 6 months after the surgery. This month i start again with Clomid(i did Clomid couple of times before the surgey) and trying to get ready for that baby! What i need now is a nutriologist who can help me out with my pregnancy nutrition and to eat correctly so i wont gain a lot or gain weight only for the baby. iggychic 1,405 Posted November 16, 2012 Tana, the reason that many women get pregnant after large weight losses is that their bodies tend to regulate, making it easier to ovulate in a timely manner, thus making it easier to get pregnant. I had my first baby at 42, totally an accident mind you. I was not heavy then. I had another natural pregnancy at 45 which I lost due to an accident and the resulting surgery. After that I went through ART and IVF as we attempted to have another but lost all of the babies unfortunately. Pregnancy at 40 is totally possible but you might consider working with an ART NP or doctor to help you out. Especially as any sleever would need to take special precautions to ensure that they properly provide for the fetus as it grows. I wish you the best!
