If it is a bready kind of smell, its yeast, if it's fishy, probably bacterial, and either will result from hormonal changes. after I gave birth to my daughter, i had severe infections, 2 weeks out of every month, and they would alternate, bacteria one month, yeast another. I drove my ob-gyn nuts, poor guy was actually very good and sympathetic. We couldn't get a grip on it for a year! Check with your gynie even if you don't have pain or itching. He can do a slide right then and there and figure out if you need treatment.

The keytones might be adding an extra smell.

My boyfriend just told me that I have a "hospital smell" down there now. I'm a nurse, so I don't even want to think about what type of "hospital smell" it is. I'm almost 7 weeks out, and we've only had sex twice since surgery (we both work a lot and live an hour away from each other). I've always showered before sex and use B&BW scents, and he's never mentioned anything about a smell until after I had surgery. He says he doesn't start to smell it until after he gets things "going" in there. Has anyone else's partner mentioned a difference during sex?

The first week or so i did notice a sweet musky smell. It did not smell bad but i dont like anything out of the ordinary going on down there. My hubby enjoyed it though and insisted i sit on his face.

OMG! Love it! Your hubby sounds like mine!

Yep! I have and now a new itching between my leg and outter....lip... **embarassed face** . My ob said my body is trying to get a new normal from surgery and its basically attacking itself causing minor yeast infection -no meds needed and to wait until 8 weeks post op until we will try meds..so hubby dont complain and its not awful or itching horribly bad so riding out the storm...good luck ladies and good luck to your lady friends lol

Could u be dehydrated? Perhaps it's the urine? I remember when I was pre op and eating horribly, I never drank water..I had this issue..my yoga pants even carried the small from that area. As soon as I increased my Water the smell has stopped.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
