Red597 35 Posted July 16, 2012 I have a quick question for those of you who are experiencing post-op lactose intolerance. Is it just with milk or is it with yogurt and cheese as well? What about almond milk? Just wondering. TIA.
bmooney364 30 Posted July 16, 2012 I was never lactose intolerant until Protein Shakes, but now have problems if I don't take lactaide before drinking.. It seems to work like a charm so I guess i am lactose intolerant. I also use lactade milk or soy milk. Good luck
ThisTimeIsIt 71 Posted July 16, 2012 I was slightly lactose intolerant prior to surgery. But after surgery I have to avoid all forms of dairy and whey or its really bad! Almond milk and soy milk are no problem fir me but make sure to watch the sugars in some of the brands if you are watching carb intake. Luckily not everyone develops lactose intolerance after surgery - so hopefully u will be one of the lucky ones!
Lissa 2,631 Posted July 16, 2012 Mine is just with straight milk. Goes right on through in under 5 minutes. Drink the milk, hit the bathroom. I have no problem with yogurt or cheese. Cottage cheese is iffy for me. Sometimes it's okay, other times it's not. I just don't eat it much, maybe once every two months or so.
