Alcoholic Drink Recommendation

Recommended Posts

I stole this from another vst member but I like any shot of hard liquor on the rocks with a few drops of Mio. Sip slowly!

I can handle white wine with plenty of ice however, it can give me heartburn that evening if I have more than one cup.

Oh my goodness - thank you for all the replies!! This was awesome!! So, the update:

1) The second date went very well :) We're off to a third on Wednesday. He has no clue about the surgery - figure I'll tackle that at some point down the line when it seem more appropriate. Just avoiding dates around meals at this point

2) I went for a infused strawberry vodka with a bit of lime juice. I decided to splurge slightly since I planned my calories for it and I wasn't planning on drinking much

3) I told the bartender I was a lightweight and asked him to take it easy on me. All I could think was, here I am on a second date...the last thing I need to do is get smashed unexpectedly, lol

4) I BARELY drank half. It felt good to have it there as an accessory so I didn't feel super-lame in the bar, but I felt no need to push it

5) I had no reaction to it. I did get a little warm at one point, didn't feel tipsy though, and felt a "weirdness" like a wave in my stomach at one point just for a moment

6) My Dr does say to take Prilosec..I totally thought about it earlier today and forgot!! I didn't drink much, but will definitely try to remember this for the future. Poor sleevie...sorry, buddy!

So, a success on all fronts. Now I know I can have something, sipped slowly...perhaps I'll try again on date #3 on Wed! After reading what's here, and also looking online, red wine actually seems like a pretty decent choice

Thanks ALL!!!

Here's a fun drinking scenario....I have a charity martini party on the 17th which will be pre op. so no drinking. I will be doing this entirely sober in a huge blonde Afro and a kagpftan of yellow orange and green with five inch platforms....yes a 70s party. I'm not sure it's legal to wear that get up sober....lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
