Wow one more day!!!! I couldn't sleep last night at all, forget about sleeping tonight!!! I've been reading some other threads of people who cheated during the pre op diet and they did fine so I am hoping that's the case here. After all liquids yesterday I am feeling a little better cause I lost another 3 pounds in one day, I know it's all Water but hopefully that water is cleaning me out and shrinking my liver :). I am so excited for all of us though!!! Can't wait to update you all post op!!! Positive thoughts from now till tomorrow, I don't have a time yet, the hospital will call me after 3 today with a time to arrive tomorrow. I hope it's early so I can just get this over with!!!! One more day!!!! Yayy!!!!!!

My doctor does not even require a liquid diet, only clear the day before surgery (today!) I went in yesterday and they said everything looked great and I was cleared for surgery. I have been eating only lean high Proteins and liquids anyway to prepare. It will be fine, just don't slip today!

my doc dont require liquid diet or anything...just nothing to eat/drink after midnight tonight. i'm going to drink 2 glasses of Water at 11:30pm tonight (suggested by the pre-test nurse) because my veins like to hide from needles. The funny thing...i don't mind being stuck...lol sometimes i encourage the nurse to try again. the last surgery i had the anesthesiologist had to place my IV in my neck...yep, turned the bed upside down and in the neck it went...thank God it was outpatient...honestly this is the only thing i'm concerned about. weird. lol

for all worried about liver not shranking, DON'T!!! if you've put in SOME effort during the pre-op stage your doc will notice. a slip up here and there is not the end of the world...keep pushing and don't let it discourage you. heck if we had control like that we would be SO EXCITED ABOUT SURGERY TOMORROW!!!! :D

we are going to do great and look fab!!!!

I'm going to be thinking about everyone and saying a special prayer for all my sleeve buddies!!! Best wishes!!!

I was sleeved on Monday, and still having sine trouble with deep breaths. I think it might be bc of where my drain is. My mouth is dry too, that's hard to fix. Lol.

i hope everyone is doing well. i'm doing good! came home friday afternoon on a stage 2 diet. had burped, passed gas & a couple BM while in the hospital. felt sick with the catheter in but once it was removed i was fine. i literally felt like i had been hit by an 18 wheeler! i was soooo drained! but as of (saturday) this morning i feel my energy level going up! i've got some Protein in today but will concentrate more on that tomorrow going forward. my concentration has been on hydration...so far so good! i'm not sure if it is ok to start taking vitamins/calciums chews/etc yet. i'm on no pain meds or gas strips...just God! i have a little discomfort where my drain comes out but with a little adjustment it subsides. oh yeah took my 1st shower this morning....BY MY SELF! i've been doing minimal walking, this will also be my focus starting tomorrow.

again i hope and pray that every is having a speedy recovery. keep in mind...LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! sending warms wishes to all!

I didn't get home until yesterday. I spent an extra day in the hospital. I ended up with a couple of bad headaches, probably from the anesthesia. I also had major pain in my chest, from the gas they use to inflate your abdomen. If I didn't know better I would have sworn I was having a heart attack. I'm in more pain than I expected from the incision where the drain was. All the others feel fine, but I'm still feeling burning/pulling at that site. Doing well with the liquid protein/limited soft Protein stage (yogurt, pudding, cream soup). My MD doesn't let you start other Proteins until 2 weeks after surgery. I think I could eat more substantial protein. I'm surprised, I didn't expect to be hungry this soon post - op.

Glad you're doing better! are you sure it's not head hunger? sometimes its hard to tell the difference. as of right now i have not hunger but occasionally have a desire. my incisions are healing well however i do have occasional discomfort and itching where the drain is.

keep up the good work!

My sleeve was on the 18th and I have no hunger at all. I get full super fast from like 2 sips of Water. My stomach like cramps up. I have to take about 2 sips every 10 minutes. Where my drain is, is the only place that hurts when I stand or walk a lot. But I am down 7 pounds since surgery. So excited about that. I know it's being on the Clear Liquids that's doing it, and once I start foods it will slow down. I've been taking flinstone chewables with Iron, 2 a day and a B-12 that melts in your mouth, I'm scared to take any pills that you just swallow yet. I can't wait to be eating regular foods and be able to push more than half the plate away and be satisfied. All in all I am feeling better day by day, walked for the first time yesterday for 20 min and today I did 20 also. I walk slow cause if the drain, but get tired and dizzy alittle fast. I need to try and get more Protein but the shakes suck if anyone has any other suggestions. I'm hoping the b-12 I started will help me with the energy. Love to hear how everyone else sleeved on the 18th is doing!!!

I was sleeved on the 18th as well. I'm doing good for the most part. I was in the hospital less than 24 hours. Everything went well and I was up and walking around that day. The first 3 days were not bad at all. Yesterday and today I have been very tired and having a hard time getting all my fluids and Protein in (maybe because I want to sleep all day? lol) I just keep telling myself it will get better! I've been walking everyday...small amounts at a time. I am so over the liquids!! I'm on full liquids until Friday and then I will be able to try pureed. Can't wait. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
