BentleyJade 28 Posted July 16, 2012 I would also like to hear from those a year or more out. My surgery is Tuesday and I am super nervous and excited. My nerves are getting bad, I feel like I need reassurance that this is the right thing to do! I'm still gonna do it, of course!

GreginMI 76 Posted July 16, 2012 A little more than one year out and doing great! I have a sleeve of steel and can eat and drink anything I want. I will say my capacity and hunger have increased substantially since my surgery. But I still make healthy choices and am maintaining well. I've lost 122 lbs and just entered ONE-derland the other day at 198 lbs. I haven't weighed under 200 lbs since the 1980s. I can't even describe in words how much better I feel! This was the single best thing I've ever done for myself. I decided to share with people about my surgery and since then there are 2 people scheduled to have the surgery and 3 more contemplating it after seeing my results. I don't have any before or after pictures on here but I'll work at getting some. Yes, it was hard in the beginning but so worth it. The only thing that sucks for me is having to wait after I eat before I an drink, but I'm getting more used to it everyday. Good luck to all of you! You'll be happy you made the decision to get the sleeve! 1 LindaS reacted to this

Lissa 2,631 Posted July 16, 2012 The VERY short version: I'm 10.5 months out, have lost 110 pounds. I'm fitter, healthier and happier than I was before surgery. I was given a year to live in June, 2011 if I didn't lose a significant amount of weight. It's been more than a year since that prognosis and my future is so bright I gotta wear shades! 7 JDHenin, NuStyle, LindaS and 4 others reacted to this
LindaS 316 Posted July 16, 2012 I will be one year out Aug. 9. I've lost over 70 pounds, and I am doing great. I eat pretty much what I want although I avoid breads because they fill me up too much. It feels like they swell up. I eat a lot LESS than what I used to eat, plus I've started exercising regularly. I love the changes I've made in my life. My teenage daughters are constantly borrowing my clothes (at least the tops). Before surgery, I had severe arthritis in my ankle that really limited what I could and couldn't do. I no longer have that problem. My ankle doesn't stop me anymore. I am very happy with the results, and I am now focusing on getting fitter -- lowering my body fat percentages and toning muscles rather than just losing weight. 1 Lissa reacted to this
Sammi25 18 Posted July 16, 2012 Hi! I am a little over a year out, and I will give you my facts 25 year old female, 5 ft 4 Starting Weight 310, current weight 191 sleevie can tolerate almost anything, sometimes red meat gives me a hard time and celery is too stringy. I have had no problems at all, and never feel hungry, I have to remind myself to eat. I still have about 40 pounds til goal, and the weight started coming off slower after about 6 months. My skin has no sagging, no pulling etc, and I am SO glad I made the decision to have this surgery. The worst part was the bloating and gas after surgery but I never even had to use my pain meds so it wasn't that bad. If you are considering this I would recommend it to anyone, its the best thing I have ever done for myself and has changed my whole life! The worst part is remembering i am no longer 300+ pounds, good luck to u! 1 BentleyJade reacted to this
