I'm a foodie and love to cook. Found this awesome recipe on Pinterest. Only 100 calories and 8 grams of protein!

12 ounces shelled edamame - fresh or frozen. If frozen, thaw.

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients together

Put in a single layer on a cookie sheet or cake pan

Roast at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Check and if not very slightly brown, roast for five more minutes.

Really yummy! My family loves these!

I love edamame too but am wary of it now. Someone on here got a nasty bezoar from eating too often. All the stringy parts got stuck! I wonder how often it is ok to eat it.

It said they were shelled, so no stringy parts in the Beans themselves!

The person with the bezoar had them shelled too. Something about the actual bean. Maybe it was the Fiber?

She had them salted and steamed I think.

Thanks for the recipe. I have recently become a Pinterest fan and have "pinned" numerous low carb, sleeve-friendly recipes and websites.

An obstruction of sorts in the intestines, or stomach I don't remember.

I've got some frozen edamame, I'll have to try it...in a small portion of course!

Sounds great, but thanks for the heads up mesaucedo. I will probably try this recipe later and just limit my portions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
