Has anyone here suffered an incisional hernia post surgery? Apparently they can occur after surgery where the lining is already compromised. I have been having severe pain in my left side and this is the only thing I can come up with. My surgeon, based on info via phone call, said he has no idea what it could be. I am having a ct tomorrow morning. Just wanted to see if anyone here had experience with this.

I had pain on my left side after surgery that kept getting worse. Turned out that my gall bladder was completely obstructed which caused pancreatitis. I never felt pain on the right (where the gall bladder is located) but the symptoms of pancreatitis can be pain on the left shoulder blade or under left rib cage. I had my gall bladder taken out and I feel sooooo much better!! Dropping weight fast is what causes the sludge in your gall bladder, they will be able to see it on the CT scan. Good luck and hope you feel better!

I actually had my gallbladder removed when I had the sleeve done.

Oh ok. Than I'm at a loss =( when I went to the e.r no one could figure out what would be hurting on the left side. They just kept asking if I thought it could be gas pains. Good luck again!

I had very bad pains in my side and stomach. Last week. I could barely walk. I went 2 the Er last Saturday. After the test the doc told me my liver was enlarged and my gallbladder was the cause of the pain. I was taking back to the hospital where I had my surgery. I was also dehydrated. My surgeon told me it was my pancreas. I just got out the hospital Sat. I thank God I was given antibiotics. They thought I needed surgery. I was inflamed inside. I was having and still have a little trouble drinking. My surgeon said if I didn't get enough Water and Protein a feeding tube would be the next step. My cycle is causing me to have a slow recovery. Im in so much pain. Im going to Gyn Wednesday for relief.

The gallbladder pain is no joke.

Sorry for the grammatical errors. Im on pain meds.
Sincerely
Z

Ct showed nothing. Drs best guess is the tight stitch they put in the largest incision where the stomach is pulled out of pulling on something.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
