I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point... Tour body has been processing nothing but liquids for almost a month, its common for your bowel movements to slow. Most of us only go once or twice a week since were not taking in as much.

Woo Beth... that seems really aggressive 16 days out. Are you feeling any pain or discomfort? I'd give him a call just to be safe. Bowel obstructions are no joke and it's better to be safe.

I'm 12 days out and I'm looking forward to my purrees in about 3 more days! LOL.

Im sure about the food... my last appointment he said the baked chicken and broiled flounder was ok... plus it helps with the Protein...

I have noticed a lot of people are still on liquids and puree's.... but by the time I chew everything... its like puree.. plus, I use a baby spoon to eat with and I only eat 3-4 ounces at a time...

All seems pretty normal to me. But if I were you I'd have some stool softeners handy.

I am 14 days out and had this same issue...I called my doc and they said as long as I was passing gas that I was Ok...they also told me that this is normal after surgery and that it's ok to take a stool softner if it was bothering me too much...They told me to drink as much Water as I could and that everything was ok.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
