kerryk 13 Posted July 15, 2012 Just got sleeved on Thursday, July 12 by Dr. Billing. I just want to mention to anyone thiinking about using them for your sleeve...DO IT! They are awesome. From the office staff, to the nurses, to the surgeon and anesthesiologist. I felt completely comfortable in their hands. When I woke up after surgery, I was quite nauseaous and in a bit of pain. The nurses were right there anytime I needed them. They did everything they could to help ease the nausea and pain. Dr. Billing came by to check on me as well, and made sure I was doing okay. The sleeve is done as an outpatient surgery here and I and planned on going home for the night (about 2 hours away) and then going back the next morning for an IV. Dr. Billing insisted that I stay at a local hotel for the night and I sure am glad that he did. The drive home and then back up the next day would have been too much for my new little tummy to handle. I was given three bags of Fluid before heading home on Friday. I was feeling a little pain, but the Roxicet wiped that right out and helped me sleep soundly. Of course, being in my own bed helps too. Today is even better. No need for the Roxicet. Just some gas pain after I take sips, but it passes quickly. Feeling pretty good, really. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Billing and staff!!! 1 Sparky79 reacted to this
karenb4729 309 Posted July 15, 2012 I know Dr Billings pretty well. I did go with another surgeon for my VSG but I'm glad to hear that you had a successful surgery!! I take it you live up near the boarder?

karenb4729 309 Posted July 15, 2012 I live in Lynnwood fairly near the clinic. I attended the seminar at the clinic where I made the decision to get the sleeve but that clinic wasn't covered under my insurance and Dr Billings became a client in my office so it was a conflict of interest. I love my sugeon but I know that Dr Billings is great too.
iggychic 1,405 Posted July 16, 2012 Kerry I'm in port Townsend. I'm planning on one or two nights in hotel. Was one enough?
kerryk 13 Posted July 16, 2012 One night was plenty for me. After going back in for the IV, I was feeling pretty good. I was feeling minimal pain, so I was ready to get home. Bumpy roads were a bit bothersome, but just take something like a small firm pillow to hold across your belly during the drive. I was only taking a half dose of the Roxicet at the hotel the night of the surgery, and just a half dose the night I got home. I haven't taken any since, so I was fine going home after one night in the hotel. By the way...the Best Western that is down by the ferry dock is a good hotel to stay at. Room was nice...not too expensive...but stayed away from the seedier areas near hwy 99.
