Mimismom 49 Posted July 14, 2012 I know it's normal for it to hurt. It's the big incision that they pulled the stomach out of that hurts the most. Any tips on how to make it hurt less. The liquid Tylenol really didn't do anything and I haven't been able to walk coz of how much it hurts when I move. Help!

The liquid Tylenol really didn't do anything and I haven't been able to walk coz of how much it hurts when I move. Help! I massage mine and apply heat to it. It is a booga bear of a pain and I have been limited in my mobility for 3 days! The nurse said it is normal and just takes time.
5DoxieMom 87 Posted July 14, 2012 Try a heating pad.
angelakay2 117 Posted July 14, 2012 My doc sent me home with liquid vicodin. Maybe yours can give something like that. I hope it feels better soon!
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 14, 2012 Try using an abdominal binder or a control garment like Spanx. It was a life saver for me. Also, try using a heating pad. I hope you feel better soon!
2bsmallagain 156 Posted July 14, 2012 Heat works well for that incision. It will take the longest to heal because of its size and what it was used for so it has the most trauma. It can be holding some Fluid retention which will cause you some pain. The heat will help remove that. If it does drain make sure it is not infected fluid. It will pass with time but it will take a lot longer than the rest of the incisions.

Mimismom 49 Posted July 15, 2012 Hey philligirl For Water I buy the smart ones 33.2 ounces and drink one of those a day then try to get in 40g of Protein. The Isopure was so nasty to me so I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and the guy was really nice he let me sample some protein. I settled on the whey protein isolate in chocolate. One scoop mixed with 8 ounces of water is 32 grams of protein. That worked for me really well since it was a lesser quantity and I could fit it in. I add a muscle milk light and I'm good to go. Im only 4 days post op so I would imagine some days moving forward will be harder for me to get everything in but I figure as long as we are trying and not getting dehydrated we should be good to go. Take care and if you ever wanna message me feel free to! :-)
On my Waaaay 21 Posted July 15, 2012 I really had a tough time with the left incision pain as well! What my Doctor suggested was using either a heating pad or the heat wraps that adhere to your body ( find them t Walgreens, Walmrt, etc.)
On my Waaaay 21 Posted July 15, 2012 Oops, hit send too quick! She also suggested putting my belly band on over that and WOW did that work!! I was so much better the next day! I think the adhesive pads lasted about 8 hours! I hope you are feeling better! 1 Mimismom reacted to this
