Hi everyone,

It is my 2 month anniversary and I am 74 pounds down and feeling great! I am learning about my sleeve and thinking I have it mastered. I tell you this clothing thing is taking me for a spin. I started buying clothes too small for me, so I can fit into them in a month or two. I have dropped from a size 54 pants to a size 48 pants and I am still dropping. Shirts are easier, because I like them baggy. How did you guys deal with this? I want to look presentable, but I am losing weight so fast, I can't keep up.

I have the same trouble but there could be worded problems in life right? I just buy one or two things at a time and shop at Marshall's or Burlington Coat Factory for now. No sense in spending a lot of money on clothes that you won't fit in for that long anyways. I buy things that fit snug so they last longer. When I buy belts I make sure I am on one of the last two holes so that I have room to shrink into it some more. As you mentioned, shirts you can live in a little longer, but let me tell you, it feels great to put on a properly fitting shirt now!

I agree with the above, but also be sure to check out thrift stores and resale shops. You would be surprised at the quality things you can sometimes find.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
