High C-Reactive Protein Level... Anyone Else?

Recommended Posts

I just set my date for surgery and got some blood work back showing a really high c-reative level. I emailed Dr. Alvarez's office to ask if I might not be able to have the surgery.... I was hoping for a " well of course you can still have the surgery!" email back and I didn't... I need to wait to hear what the dr says.. soo nervous now.. anyone else with high levels before surgery?

Mine is constantly high, as is my esr or sed rate... They both are markers for inflammation in the body. I would imagine you can still have surgery as long as all your other tests come back ok. They think mine are related to fibromyalgia and/or an autoimmune issue... But it can be caused by any type of inflammation. Good luck and let us know what he says!

Mine was a bit high before surgery, my doctor said it could be from dehydration which is common with pre-op routines. It did not delay my surgery at all.
