Day 6....and I will give an update on my progress....On day 2, I would have been willing to eat the slop my mother served to us growing up called hamburger casserole..yuck. Day three....I would have eaten the dog food. Day 4....the dog started looking good. Day 5....turned things around, I don't feel as hungry all the time. I haven't cheated, but I have eaten a river of popicles and an ocean of Jello. If I never see Jello again..it would make me the happiest woman on the planet.

Just found this app last week And I'm so happy to have found it!!! Glad to have people to talk to!

Well Triggr and good luck to you...please keep us informed on your process!

i know what you mean about the casseroles. Mom always pushed the tuna casserole because it was cheap growing up. Yuck!

I'm 3rd day of pre-op diet. My head feels like a elephant is sitting on it. I know it wiil get better. I won't lie and say it's not tough but being able talk about it and know I'm not alone is so helpful.

Maybe I spoke too soon. My husband came home from work and made a pot of Moroccan lusiciness and here I sit with my main course....Strawberry Jello...the aroma coming from the kitchen is intoxicating....

My first pre op day was today (surgery 8/02) did pretty well until dinner and my blood sugar was on a downhill spiral so I made scrambled eggs. I figure that is better than other choices. I plan to get some mini juice containers that have sugar in case it happens again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
