Thanks newgrandmother, I've been drinking Protein Shakes, one for Breakfast and one for lunch. A small dinner (6 oz of lean meat and veggies) no carbs - Very Hard cause I love them. And exercising, I try to walk 2 miles a day or work out in a pool. Most days, I'm just hungry all the time. I drink Water when it gets too bad or have a cup of boullion (feels like I'm getting something more substantial). I'm excited about the weight loss already but I know that if I don't get this operation I'll eventually gain it all back again.

I'm scheduled September 17. I start my lovely two week liquid diet on Monday. I hope the next few weeks fly by!

Congrats sleeve sister! I'm scheduled for Sept. 17th also. Here's to the next 2 weeks passing in the blink of an eye! :)

Ugh! I am sick. I have a cold and cough. No it's not possible. My surgery date is the 13th. I know I still have days to get better but just in case I am seeing my dr. today. Do you think I'm exaggerating by going to see her, or should I just wait it out?

Whatever your doctor gives you, try the Zicam also. It really does seem to work for me. I have a long history of having colds progress into bronchitis. I have had 2 colds that didn't go to bronchitis and none that did go since I discovered that Zicam seems to work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
