Milestones And Sadness

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I had an MRI and was amazed that I was able to fit in the machine with out my sides rubbing on the sides of the bed. :D I was laying very comfortable. B) But I need to call the office because I am now starting to lose my hair. I am glad that it is thick but the clumps keep clogging my tub. ;) All I can do now is just laugh about my saying. Well beauty is painful.

You are losing hair because your body is using the nutrients you get to run your heart, liver and other major organs. The hair folicals get the "shaft" hee hee. All kidding aside, there are some things you can do. Nioxon is a Shampoo and conditioner that stimulates the folicals to promote new growth. There is also a Vitamin called Bioten and you can take 5000mg, they are soft gel tabs easy to swallow.

Most women lose their hair and there is almost nothing you can do about it. I bought the Nioxin and the Biotin. Neither worked. My hair just kept falling out and falling out. But, thankfully it stopped after a few months of it falling out. My surgeon told us it is our hormones that cause the Hair loss. He said it rarely happens to the men in his practice. They think it is actually our body shedding the hormones stored in our fat cells. He compared it to post pregnancy. A lot of women lose their hair after having a baby due to a hormonal change. You can try the Nioxin and Biotin. I think I wasted my money. I do take Biotin now to help with the regrowth though. I do notice a difference in my nails, they are stronger.

Thank guys I call the doctor and he wants me to do some blood test he thinks I need more Vitamins. But I am glad that it stops soon. I been going thru this for a month now. I didn't think I was going to have it because I am three months out. Milestone and sadness are the hardest happiness to deal with.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
