I just had my sleeve Monday but feel like I should be getting more energy everyday, but I am exhausted. I have zero energy! What can I do to help! I have not been getting all my Protein but I'm probably about 40 or so! Let me know if this is normal-I usually have so much energy! I take a nap in the morning and again in the afternoon!

It took me about 4 weeks before I felt like myself. I took naps everyday. It just take time. Hang in there.

You sleep ALL DAY if you need to - that is your body telling you to take it easy, and you should listen. you never know when you will need your reserves and if you have already exhausted them you can be in trouble. I know.

Everyone recovers differently. Your body wants sleep. You just gave your body a pretty good shock- let it acclimate.

Yes it's normal. I stood home for 1 month and every day when my hubby came home from work 5pm I was dead asleep. I still come home and take naps as needed.

My dietitian told me, your body is used to running on jet fuel and is having to change to diesel. I know it sounds cutesy, but it has helped me be more patient. I am sleeping a LOT too. I am a teacher and am so thankful I have the summer off to recuperate. Actually, Monday was 4 weeks out for me and it is getting better. I have an appointment with my regular physician tomorrow to check blood pressure. Maybe my meds need adjusting! Really, I'm pooped! Hang in there!

I took a nap every day for almost 12 days or more. I drank, I walked, I pottied, showered, and I napped and walked some more.

I'm 5 weeks and I just slept on my stomach for the first time, I started going in my pool at 4 weeks out, I have days I'm a little tired but I'm doing more and more and I'm starting to feel like me.

I did not take any pain killers, I was only allowed chopped up tylenol and I felt like I was always whacked out for the first 2 weeks. Almost like I wasn't quite there.

Give yourself some time to heal and go with it, walk, sip and nap.

It definitely is normal. You had major surgery this week, just take it easy. You'll have lots of energy soon.

I'm 4 weeks out and still struggling with energy. I take a nap everyday, and I'm still tired if I try to do too much. It's getting better everyday, and the more Protein and fluids I get in the better I do. Good luck!!

I just talked to my bariatric surgeon about this today. He said low energy is totally normal because your body is taking every ounce of Protein you consume to "heal a wound." Therefore, you don't have a lot left over to keep your energy up. He told me to increase my protein until my energy gets back to normal...which, he assured me, WILL happen. Good luck!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
