I might suggest for those of you who say you are able to eat more than 2 to 4 ounces at a time, especially if you are early out from your surgery is that you try to focus on eating DENSE Protein. That would include broiled chicken, tuna (very little mayo to mix it), steak, salmon, fish, etc... Try not to add sauces or other things that sneak in calories or carbs. Yes, it will make it "slide" down easier, but that's the point. If it slides down easier it is not going to keep you as full as long. You will then be less likely to eat stuff you shouldn't.

Find some dense Protein you like and try to make those things your first menu item.

I eat 9 tbp of egg whites for Breakfast. They are soft scrambled and the hardest to get down, but I usually read/play on my Kindle while I eat to drag out the time.

1 4 oz tilipia for lunch

dinner changes nightly as I really cook for my family. I get most my calories from dinner. If I am way low on calories I'll have a Protein Drink as a "snack" and to help me get my liquid. If they are having something I don't want (I am not a red meat fan, never have been) I'll george foreman a chicken tenderloin, or eat tuna fish, or chicken salad.

I am trying to let go of the Protein drinks but I have them if I need them.

I absolutely agree!! My surgeon says NO SOFT MUSHY FOODS!!! Once ur on solids of course. Boy is he right!! When I eat egg salad I get hungry in an hour. When I eat a hard boiled egg I stay full much longer. He says you've taken a perfectly good meal and ruined it. I stick to these rules and so far I'm thrilled. I really try to stay away from anything puréed or soft. I don't eat yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
