giraffequeen 10 Posted July 11, 2012 Had a sore muscle feeling come up this morning on my lower leg just below my knee! Doc brushed it off since its not hot or red. I'm still worried about it...not sure what else it could be? If its still bothering me tommorow...I'm gonna ask for an order from my doc for an u/s.

Nate 292 Posted July 11, 2012 If it spreads or starts to swell, Id say go to the ER. I ended up with a clot in my arm a week after surgery from the I.V. during my stay. It started out like a minor pain about 2in above my wrist, 2 days later it was swollen and spread to my hand and half way up my arm. Wasn't warm at all or red, but it was still a clot that ran from my hand to my elbow. I thought it was just tendionitis
Lissa 2,631 Posted July 11, 2012 Mine felt like a major charley horse. I agree with you; if the pain persists or if you start swelling above or below the pain, then get thee to an ER stat!

Lissa 2,631 Posted July 11, 2012 If it makes you feel any better, I walked around with that charlie horse feeling for 4 days before I went to the doctor. A nurse friend told me that I could eliminate a clot because I could bend my foot up toward my leg without horrible pain. She was wrong. Don't let your leg bother you for tonight since your doc checked it out today, but be concerned if the pain isn't gone in the morning. In the meantime, you could do RICE to it... rest, ice, elevation and I THINK the C stands for compression, but one of the medical people will have to help me on that one. Do not massage the area if you truly suspect a clot.. .and there's no reason you can't go to the ER if it has you truly panicked. I'd rather have the issue resolved than walk around in a state of paranoia. Let us know how it turns out, please?
