TheNewSusie 471 Posted July 11, 2012 I am 4 days post and I feel like I can drink with no problems, yes I am taking it easy and taking small sips every few minutes but I've heard stories where people can hardly get down 8 ounces in a day. Yesterday I took down 70 ounces and was surprised. Is this Normal?
enigmachik 403 Posted July 11, 2012 wow, that sounds great. I'm five days post-op and getting about 30 oz a day, but it takes a concentrated effort to get down that much.
MyGastricSleeveLife 180 Posted July 11, 2012 Yes, it's normal. Everyone is very different. I had no issues getting in all my fluids right after surgery except that I had to mix in crystal light because I regular Water didn't sit great right away. I'm 8 weeks out now & have never had a problem with getting all my Fluid in.
Finding Myself 146 Posted July 11, 2012 I've never had any problems with it, either, and my doctor told me in the beginning that there is virtually no restriction to fluids for many of us. I saw that when I saw my dynamic leak test - the fluids went right through! And it was probably 1-2 oz of Fluid. Be glad you don't have any issues getting in fluids! The ones that do, I believe, have more swelling than others of us, and honestly, the first few weeks, things just kinda are sore and everything has some level discomfort tied to it for many.
