Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 10, 2012 I was cash pay so all my doctor required was lab work and an ekg to make sure I was healthy enough to go under anesthesia and have surgery. A lot of the things (like a sleep study) are required by the insurance company. You might call the doctor's office and ask what they require. It sounds to me like you are getting super close to surgery. Best of luck in your journey!

Now it's the surgeon that had the requirements: Two days one week a part: A whole bunch of labs Bariatrician visit Psych visit Bariatric nurse visit Second day: Lab results with doc Physical therapist Nut That's it. I was told I'd be submitted this morning however I will wait until Friday to call. Shooting for an August surg date! Easy peasy. **labs found out I have H Pylori had to do a conformation stool sample test, ran that to the lab today. Once confirmed 10-14 days of antibiotics. Good luck!! ladiJ 83 Posted August 5, 2012 wow of course I knew alot of evals for any surgery but kinda of surprising the difference in amount of hoops for different payment options. I have completed all the hoops and now am waiting for the actual labs, medical clearances and consult with surgeon.
LouiseC 1,031 Posted August 5, 2012 I had no required seminars, appointments or the like. Psych and NUT were optional and I went to the NUT. Other than that I just had consults with the surgeon and blood screening.
