Ok so I am in the begining process of getting sleeved, and I am changing everything now before I actually have the surgery. I drink 70-100 oz of Water a day, I am taking the Vitamins and trying to eat protien first (obviously I can eat that plus the starch and veg and dessert....I am trying at least) and I am trying to excercise and try new foods. I am just so impatient all I have done is maintained the last 4 months which yes is better than gaining but I am just starting to get a little down that this process is sooooo slllllooooowwww to actually get to my surgery date. I would love some encouragement please :) I don't have too much support at home right now....

I just started my preop liquid diet and it feels like everything started going faster once I got my surgery date. Hang in ther, you are doing all the right things for long term results!

Remember, your body is going through a huge change....even before surgery becasue you've made some major changes. However, be happy with yourself. You are making the changes you need to make already which will make things much easier after surgery. I have been sleeved for three months now and I still have a very hard time not drinking while I eat. I think if I would have made that change prior, it would be so much easier. Once you get on your pre-op diet and then have the surgery, you will be shocked at how fast everything starts to change!!! Just keep in mind that the things you enjoy (food wise) you may not like at all when you get out of surgery. I am still finding things that I used to LOVE that I no longer even want around me now. :)

Just don't get down on yourself. The weight will come off....and you'll forger all about how worried you were during this time. Best of luck to you!!!!

I feel a little blah bc I am so used to eating lots of protien and all i can have is toast popsicles boiled potatos or vegies and fruit.< /p>

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
