Help I Am So Frustrated

Recommended Posts

I am so mad right now. I work out atleast 3 hours a day once in the evenings and once in the morning. I am trying my best to eat when I should I can't get over 800 calories in, I am feeling more and more exhausted each day.......and I AM AT A STAND STILL! My doc says more Protein, my nutritionist says more calories, and my trainer says more carbs so I can have more energy. I need to hear from someone who has had the surgery because none of these people have. What do I need to do?

It seems like you do need more calories if you're working out that much. Your body is practically in starvation mode, trying to conserve because you are burning so much. Try increasing calories (proteins and carbs) by a couple of hundred and see if that kick starts your weight loss again

Definitely agree with more calories. Depending on where you are on the journey, I would probably resist the urge for more carbs.

Yep, more cals and more carbs (especially some complex carbs about and hour before you workout). I love a banana or some low/no sugar oatmeal before I workout.

I'm very weary of bananas because they give me a lot of gas, which can be very uncomfortable. Tread cautiously with broccoli, cauliflower, bananas and cabbage, if you're sensitive to gas.

This may sound crazy, but when trying to lose working with a doctor and nut a few years back I got stuck at a certain weight. The doctor told me that I should skip working out and sleep a minimum of 10 hours for 3 days in a row...then go back to my normal routine. Worked like a charm. Used it at every stall and it always got me going again. I will be sleeved soon, so I don't know if it works with the sleeve but it sure does work with diet and exercise.

What you are doing here is confusing your system, changing things ups. When you hit a stall, this is a good thing. Increase your calories for a few days, then bring them down. This is actually a good routine to do all the time. You body can get used to doing certain things and eating a certain amount. Try the same thing with your exercise routine.

Jazzmin, I was working out twice a day for a couple of months and my body hurt! I couldn't eat enough, sleep enough, or relax enough to quit aching. I was living on Icy Hot and hurting constantly. As soon as I stopped doing the double workouts, everything lined back up for me.

I agree with changing things up. I lose when I eat more. I lose when I exercise less, then I'll lose when I do a killer workout for a few days. Once I started varying my routine, my weight loss restarted and has been steady again since.

Take a day off from work out take a nap eat every 2 hrs switch up your work out do once away for a few days then go back to what you were doing. This worked me. If your exhausted you will hurt yourself

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
