People With Pre-Op Pain Or Big/many Meds.

So I'm told what I take after surgery cannot be bigger than a pencil eraser or it has to be crushed.

So here's the issue, if I crush certain meds. that are bigger and put in liquid how can I swallow enough liquid when I hear about not being able to swallow (or drink enough to take all meds.) etc.?
