Vivian 0 Posted September 1, 2006 My name is Vivian and I was banded on 8/21/06. My Doctor is Dr. Geiss, NY. Just being on the liquid diet three days before my surgery I lost 4lbs. Not like its much but, I guess every bit helps in the long run. I'm getting sick of liquids by now and hope when I go for my post-op on 9/5/06 that I can start mushy food. Even though I've cheated with stuffing and cream of chicken Soup. Yum Yum. Any words of advise from the group?:clap2:
503-250 1 Posted September 1, 2006 Motion...the scale won't move if you don't move. Also, I highly recommend going to Dr Geiss' 3rd tuesday of the month meetings. Tons of valuable information from the nutritionist and therapist who run the meeting, and even more info from the banders who show up every week. I was just in Dr Geiss' office on Thursday morning, any chance we meet there? I was the bearded fat guy...hard to miss LOL.
Vivian 0 Posted September 1, 2006 I haven't been into Dr. Geiss's office since before my banding. Maybe I'll see you Tuesday night if you are going. Thanks.
*susan* 1,709 Posted September 1, 2006 Hey Vivian, I just want to say hi and welcome you to LBT and bandland. You will love it here. I think my biggest advice would be to remember to follow what your doctor says and remember that between now and the time of your first fill, you are going to be healing. Don't be discouraged if you stop losing weight. Many of us don't see a big change in weight until we reach proper restriction.
Vivian 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Thanks Susan, I've heard that until the first fill that because of the mushy food you might not see a weight loss. Six weeks can seem like a long way away until then. Vivian
