Yes! It's true!!! I live in Vancouver Canada. Here we have a mountain called Grouse Mountain (part of the 2010 olympics were on this mountain. Anyways, on thismountain is an "attraction" called the Grouse Grind. 3000 stairs over 2.9 km straight up the mountain. I love it!! It's addicting to try and beat my own time. The avg seasoned hiker can do it in 1:30-2:00. A vacationer is generally 2-2:30. Last year my best time was 1:24. My first time last week was 1:21 (yay). On Tuesday I'm going with some first timers so the pace will be slow. But I really wanted to beat my time!!! My work life has sucked recently. I took on managent at an existing bakery and it's been really bad and really exhausting. To the point that I'm starting to get that panic feeling in my chest. So I took matters into my own hands and played sick today. I spent a lovely day with my family and they took the tram to the top of the mountain to cheer me on when I got to the top. And I killed it!!! I came in at 1:12!!! A full 9 min faster!!! My ultimate goal is under an hour. I'm almost there!! Yippee!!

and I don't feel bad about calling in sick either- this was a mental health day for me ; )

That is FANTASTIC!

My best friend and I both live in Toronto, but she visits Vancouver at least once a year to visit her sister-in-law with her husband. They both do the Grouse Grind nearly every time they go.

Several years ago, I went on a self-directed 1200 calories and exercise regime and lost 100 lbs. My friend told me that if I got to my goal weight, she would take me to Vancouver and we could do the Grouse Grind together. I ended up gaining back most of that 100 lbs (and even with the 100 lbs down, I was still 95 lbs away from my goal weight).

I'm hoping to hit my goal weight in the next year (43 lbs down, a bit more than 140 lbs to go....). Perhaps around this time next year, she and I will be doing the Grind ourselves! If so, I'll let you know and maybe you can join us! Just don't make us look too bad when you leave us in your dust. LOL

I can't get my hubby to do it!!! : (

Oh well. Relying on yourself for these things is a real eye opener!! Even tho, for the most part, I do it bymyself- I love it!!!!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
