It is very intense! You might want to google the fit test and see If you can do it. If you can't, try Power 90. It is the lowest level of Beachbody.

I'm actually doing the p90 now it's not as intense and I still get in a good workout. After this I'm going to go to the p90x I think you should try this one

I've done P90X a couple times. It is intense - however you can tailor it to you & your level. I didn't even bother with the fit test. If you can't do pushups on your feet do them on your knees, if you can't do pull-ups yet you can use the bands attached to your door.

I think it's totally worth it. I've done the program on 1200 calories/day - but I was wondering about doing it on so few calories, but again you can tailor it to your fitness/energy level. Tony Horton has low impact or modified moves for almost everything. So I do recommend the program if you're interested in really working hard. His Power 90 is a pretty good workout as well.

I have also done P90X and it is in intense. The thing that discouraged me most of the time was not the exercise, but the amount of time that you had to devote. Some of the workouts are like 40 minutes, but then he wants you to pop in the ab video for another 30 minutes and the yoga video is a full 90 minutes. If you have the time, I say go for it, but it was a little too much of a time committment for me. I have seen him recently on an infomercial where he has a new program and the videos are 10 minutes in length. I'm sure you stack multiple workouts on in a day to get what he calls "muscle confusion" If you google Tony Horton or Beach Body, I'm sure you will find it. Good luck and in the words of Tony Horton, "do your best and forget about the rest"

You can download all of the P90, P90X etc. online. Worth doing. They are very good programs and you can always modify. Just keep moving :)

@Erin6573 - you're totally correct - it is a big time commitment. I think that is why I never made it through the full 90 days. I'm thinking when I have the surgery and have been cleared for lifting - once I start to see a stall I may add 1 P90X workout into my workout a week just to try to prevent a plateau or get me out of one. I'll see. But definitely - the time commitment is huge!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
