I wouldn't worry. Just dont go doing any heavy lifting or extreme sports in the mean time and you'll be fine until Tuesday. :)

The staples look good actually Patrick. Just take it easy. If they hurt is the only time I would worry. Since they are coming out tuesday, it also wouldn't hurt if one did come out.. It wouldn't like bust open is what I mean. And that's right... 13" could be some heavy lifting lol. Sorry, I had remembered that from a prior post.

HAHA!

The staples look OK. As long as they're not popping out on their own, which is virtually impossible you're fine. The barbs of the staples go in at an inward angle to hold the skin together. So even looking kinda bowed like that, they're still in firmly enough to not worry about it.

The staples look good. Just try to keep the area dry if it's in a fat fold so the incision can continue to heal.

I had 25 staples in my leg when I had knee replacement surgery and even though some of them looked a little crooked after a while, they held tight for the two weeks I had them in.

Those staples look great. I know I haven't had VSG surgery yet, but I did however have an open hysterectomy 11 years ago. At first the staples are flush to the skin, but as your body heals and some of the swelling and inflammation leave, and the skin tightens back up, the staples will flush out some.

On the other side, its nice to expect one can always laugh with your humor. The laughs make long days go by easier. Thanks.

I'd agree. They look pretty good. As long as they're not smelling, painful, oozing or changing color, you shouldn't worry too much. Just take it easy and keep an eye on it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
