Favorite Nectar Flavors & Why?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to get the samples and want to know what your favorite samples are. I just need flavors for the clear phase ( a week,) so I am assuming using milk or anything besides Water no longer makes it a clear. So I would assume the latte one would taste bad with just water. Would 11 or 14 last me a week? Also how many ounces are in each sample, it doesn't say on the site. Thanks in advance.

Everyone is soooo different with their flavor prefs! But...I'm a fan of the kiwi strawberry (reminds me of a tropical fru fru drink :), Roadside Lemonade, caribbean cooler (though this one got old for me quick) because it tasted like a piña colada, and apple ecstasy. And the double stuffed cookie made with milk. Mmmmm

I did samples from bjs bariatrics (because you can pick your flavors to mix and try). Then once I knew what I wanted, I pick up at Vitamin shoppe or Amazon (which, ironically, last time shipped from Vitamin Shoppe anyway but slightly cheaper :)

If you go to the Syntrax site you can call and order all14 flavors of nectar for $14 and Syntrax covers shipping. I posted the number on another thread. I don't have access to the number right now.

I saw the response I just wanted to have an idea of flavors that I would want to get based on personal reviews. Unless they didn't allow a choice and gave the flavors they wanted to.

I love vanilla bean torte and chocolate truffle the best. I've used them for the entire time post op and still enjoy them. They mix well with juice, tea, coffee, Water, soymilk.

I'd say the double-stuffed cookie, latte Cappuccino and caribbean cooler are also pretty good. I don't typically care for fruity Protein shakes but I've tried the peach, orange, and pink grapefruit and think they're okay, I just couldn't drink them every day.

The only flavors I couldn't drink at all were Roadside Lemonade and the Twisted cherry. Others like them but I hated them.

I've only had chocolate truffle and vanilla bean but I like both. I also got unflavored so I could through it in yogurt, oatmeal, etc.

For fruity flavors I love Roadside Lemonade & Kiwi strawberry. If you get bored w/ the flavor of lemonaide you can always add crystal lite iced tea or strawberry Mio to alter the taste.

The Vanilla Torte and chocolate Truffle are awesome.

I love the vanilla with a bit of cooled coffee and a splash of Torani SF Syrup for an iced coffee. I love, love, love making a thick shake with the chocolate Truffle, some SF pudding, PB2 and NF milk. It tastes just like a shake gem Sonic and it packs a Protein punch!

You can buy singles of the vanilla and chocolate at a Vitamin Shoppe (use google to find a 20% off coupon).

I love the Twisted cherry and Roadside Lemonade. They're good mixed together as well. I also like the unflavored and mix it with milk.

I ordered mine from Amazon.com.< /p>

Oh yeah! I forgot to add that the ONLY unflavored Protein I would really recommend is the nectar one. It's almost completely tasteless with no funky smell and it blends in with no issue.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
