Who Would Have Thought I Would No Longer Want To Eat

Recommended Posts

I am just over three months out and eating is still a chore...I never really thought I would have to force myself to eat, but that is what I have to do. I really have not desire to eat anything and when I do, nothing tastes good. Does anyone else have this problem...does it pass with in time?

Yes, it will get better. It takes a good 6 months for your stomach to heal. I am 9 months out and life is so much better. I am almost to goal but surprised how the loss has slowed down. Enjoy the quick loss now. food will taste better but you will learn that a lot less tastes good too.

Eating has become just another chore for me. I'm committed to eating healthy, therefore most of the junk we add to make food taste good is really not an option for me. I find myself looking for the ways to get all my nutrients by consuming as little food as possible only because eating really is a pain in my butt! I be never once believed people when they said they viewed food as fuel. Now I can say thats exactly how I view it, even to the point of sometimes disliking the time it takes to fill up.

This literally makes me want to cry with joy!! (Although Day 2 of liquid diet hardly anything doesn't make me cry).

I understand about the liquid diet phase pre surgery. I had to change the channel when Burger King commercials came on. Now, if I actually Want a burger, all it takes is 3 bites without the bun and I am stuffed.

Yeah...I'm with you on this one. I am determined to get sufficient amounts of Protein and fluids every day. Once I hit 60+ grams of protein I almost rejoice...because I don't "have" to consume anything else for the day. I often have to force myself to eat a little something in the evening, just to reach 500 calories for the day. food, and eating, have become a hassle....something that has to be done, in order to stay healthy, but rarely enjoyed.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
