I am six weeks out. I just got back from being on vacation over a week with family and friends. I did not get my Protein or Water in like I should. I ate sweets, lots of carbs and drank alcohol. I thought my body would reject them all but it was like old times. Which I hated. I need to detox and get back on track. I need suggestions in what I can do to detox and get a jump start because I am not losing.

I wouldnt worry...I would suggest that you just get back on track by drinking and eating the things you know are best for you & your sleeve and your body will follow suit and detox itself. After all that what vacations are about - taking a break from your everyday life.

Wow I am surprised you could eat and drink that stuff! I was wondering if I would ever be able to have an adult drink again! I would love a glass of wine or even a vodka and crystal light!

Hang in there you will get back on track just know it may be very easy for you to "fall off the wagon!"

I was surprised to and that is the scary part. I had no problems at all but I refused to fall off and get back to doing the same old things.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
