How would each of you Celebrate your birthday?

I want to go roller skating this year! I looked into it before & loved roller skating as a child, but wouldn't do it other years b/c of my weight. Now that I've lost some of my excess weight & inches, I'd love to do it this year. I know that no matter what I do, from now on I don't want to go out to eat for my birthday. I don't want my birthday to be related to food anymore. Depending on what we do, we might eat while we are out somewhere, but I don't want the actual focus to be food. I want it to be how great I feel for getting my life back & being more active!

I have always been pretty good about treating myself, so there aren't a lot of things I long for. However, for years, I have wanted a Coach duffle bag. My birthday is August 24, so if I haven't bought this for myself by my birthday in 2013, it will be the way that I Celebrate my birthday and my sleeve success. http://www.coach.com/online/handbags/-men_coachoriginals-10551-10051-13089-en?t1Id=82&t2Id=13089&tier=2&LOC=LN#1243

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
