I have not read any posts about the flavored cool aide sugar free that you just add to a bottle of Water lots of flavors also there is the crystal lite ones too. Thought I would put in my carry one. From what I have read the injury stuff is the best so am going to order some chicken broth today and hope it gets here. Slowly added to my suitcase...Mexico here we come!

MGM, have you checked with your iPhone carry about get the international calling? I am not taking my phone as if I even turn it on it will take a big hit. My husband uses his for work so we put the calling plan on his. Had to do 3 different additions..calling, data, and messaging. Taking both IPads his for work mine because it has all my books. Also the grand kids want to FaceTime with us. :-)

Oh that is right, you will get massive charges if you don't have an international plan. Good suggestion!

I have sprint. Couldn't get an international plan. They suggested I turn off roaming for talk, text and data so I don't get those charges. By doing that, I will be able to still use my iPhone Internet where wifi is available, such as at the hotel. I will stay in touch with my family via emails and Facebook with free wifi.

I downloaded an app that translates English to Spanish. This was helpful when the nurses had difficulty understanding my English. I used my iPad.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
