Just popping in online to update my weightloss tracker. I'm down to 265 from 390 with a VGS surgery date of 1/12/2012. I'm finding I don't come on the site much any more and I'm starting to think some of the other people who are Veteran sleevers don't visit much after they hit their goals. This place is a great for motovation. For those on the fence with fear about it' date=' sometimes you just have to take a chance and do something that will BETTER you.

OMG that is amazing! I'm 11 days out and wonder how fast I will lose weight. 10 pounds came off pre op and 8 pounds post op. I have lost weight in 3 says. How were you able to get enough Fluid in and how much did you exercise?

I have been doing the no carb diet since surgery. I eat as much as I want as long as its not fried, made of white flour, is sugar free, and has little to no carb

Daily:

A muscle milk shake for Breakfast with my Vitamins

Snacking through out the day on Pork Skins, pistachios, Jerky, and many different kinds of cheeses

dinner is some form of primary lean meat (steak, grilled chicken, or fish)

liquids at any given moment are Water, unsweet tea, Vitamin waters, crystal light, and an occational soda (dr pepper 10 or a pepsi next)

it won't effect the procedure but kiss those foods good bye! you will be forced to avoid them (which is a good thing)

I never had a problem with the fluids..I was drinking lemonade with ease hours after surgery. Started working out with a personal trainer after 3 weeks from surgery....its all been cake from there

Wow! Seems today I can get a mouthful of liquids down instead of sipping. After almost 3 weeks of various fluids, I'm trying some puréed Beans today can't wait until Monday which is my third week. I'm learning what too much canned Soup does to my body (water retention). I think I will follow your lead and take up weight lifting. You are an inspiration.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
