I NEVER DEPRIVE MYSELF!! I've noticed though that I really don't crave sweets anymore. I crave crunchy salty things. I just make sure I portion out 100 calories if I really want that snack. Thankfully

My wonderful sleeve tolerates everything.

I still eat ribs' date=' granted I can only hold one, but if I want it, I eat it. As for potato or egg salad, I have them too; but if you are worried about the fat and calories, make them with fat free Miracle Whip in place of regular mayo. fat free MW has 15 cals. per Tbsp. versus the 90 cals. in one Tbsp. of regular mayo. Happy eating :)[/quote']

mayo made me dump (literally almost passed out, threw up, diarrhea, cold sweat) wondering would miracle whip have the same effect?

It shouldn't. My FIL has the same issue with mayo. Has no prob with miracle whip. It should be a wonderful alternative for you!

When my sleeve doesn't like something, for me refined sugar too quickly and too much, I get a stomach cramp and feel hot and sweaty and almost sick. Then off to the bano I go!

Some people dump, some people just get sick. Sometimes nothing happens until later. TMI -- I ate lettuce the other day for the first time and everything was fine until I had a BM. It wasn't digested at all.

Change your perception. You eat to live' date=' not for emotional fulfillment. If you can train yourself in that, you WILL enjoy all of your savory bites!

What a great thought. Need to take it to heart. Thanks

First I have to ask, what does "Dump" mean to a sleeve pt.

Second what I crave most is a cold drink that is not with the nasty sugar free taste, so I just don't drink now. I have an appt on Friday, I am hoping he can help me :(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
