You all have such interesting lives. I am afraid to say it but I was born in the hospital I work in. The only time I lived away from the city I'm from is when I went to college. I too am impressed with the variety of occupations. My occupation...Charge Technologist of the Biochemistry Lab in the hospital I was born in.....true!!! Although, I would love to be a professional spy

Yeah, that IS cool, Wheezy! I'm amazed when I hear of people who've been friends and still are inseparable since kindergarten!

But yes... being a spy would be cool too. I didn't mention it, Yoda, cause I wasn't sure you'd want everyone knowing... but since you blew your OWN cover.... tell us more!

When I first came to this site a few months back, there was barely anyone on this Canadian thread. I got all my questions answered on the main forum. There were sooooo many wonderful americans there to help me. We can help you here, but sometimes the question is one that you might want more ideas or input. They have a whole lot more people on there threads. I still like to visit and post, but I feel at home here.

You know, some of the "many wonderful americans" are... Canadians living on the American side of the border. I am one of them, born and grown in Quebec City.

Ciao... for now.

Yoda, Did you have to go to spy school? I think when I retire, I would like to do something different. I could be a Private Investigator. My handle could be Wheezy P.I. I knew someone that did that. She was hired by companies, as an assistant or secretary to people they would suspect fraud or various other infractions. It just sounds so cool and dangerous.

Hey Green...you do have an intriguing job!!!!

BTW, Mr. Yoda is also a Red Seal Professional chef.

Oh...ummm Manid...u forgot to mention my occupation of ....professional spy....

I have lived in every province in Canada except Newfoundland, so I can certainly say I've moved around a lot....course it kinda sucked changing schools every 1-2 yrs....but ya get used to it! It made me who I am today!

Cccccrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!

So, more chefs in the Canadian family! You women are lucky! But look at us, here we are, obsessing about food.;) and:hungry: ,eh.

Yoda, I wanna hear more about the spy gig.

LOL @ Wheezy & Green.

Yes, I went to ACME SPY school. Got all muh skills and talents there during the long and ardurous 3 day semester!!

Yeah, I actually knew someone who was a PI as well (no Tom Selleck though!!). Turns out the stuff he did was pretty boring (stakeouts etc)....mostly to do with insurance fraud.

Well I think an old fat fart (such as myself) would make a terrific P.I. This is because O.F.F.s are invisible to the general public.

hi everyone,

I just got back from my Nova Scotia and PEI vacation. My finally eat whatever I want days are now over. I'm on day three of the pre-op.

I got so stupid drunk one night that I don't think it will be a problem now giving up my diet pepsi.....just looking at it makes me sick because of all the rye i drank..the pepsi ended being added just for a little colour....goodbye alcohol!!!!

Can't wait for my surgery....but worried I didn't book enough time off work for recovery....I didn't want to tell them what I needed time off for....and I'm just going back after vacation.

How long did you guys need for recovering?

Ugh! I had an experience like that with orange crush and vodka when I was in my late teens. I ended up puking all over this creep's shoes while he insisted on kissing me on the nape of my neck. It was partially his fault. He insisted on following me outside when I realised that I had drunk far too much and I needed a breath (or lots) of fresh air. It was the first time I had ever been to a drinking party with boys, etc. I have never, ever drunk orange crush since. And besides, it's empty calories, isn't it?

Your vacation sounds like a dream, by the way. I should see more of Canada before I end up too old to see it.

My surgery is this Thursday. I don't know how long it takes to recover but Dr. Joffe and Nisreen were both very upbeat.

Most Dr.s suggest a week. Depending on what you do, you could probably go sooner.

Welcome back Swanny! Looking forward to hearing your adventures!!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
