I don't think you're being overly sensitive at all. That comment about the fat lady singing is just flat out rude. Good thing he didn't say it to me, because I'd be two seconds from pounding him into sand...friend or not. With that said, you're on your way to a wonderful place and don't let any distractors stop you. Take care of yourself, because you're worth it. We all are!!!!

Good luck to you in your continued journey!

I too work in a "mans" world and deal w/ comments that would be completely inappropriate in any other work environment. So completely understand your position and why you would not go to HR.

We have a similar situation in our office. Male co-worker is GOOD friends w/ female co-worker and her husband but says very racial comments to her that are very offensive. There are several of us that have started intervention and pointing out the comments are offensive to us as well and we support her and wish he would stop saying them. We are all good co-workers. It does seem to have helped a little but not much! Do you have co-worker friends that can "GET UR BACK!" when he makes such awful comments.

The guys seems to have a way of "commenting back" to shut him up. As I am female I normally just look disapproving @ him and remind him my precious adopted angel would be very offended if she heard the comment. He loves children and his grandchildren.

Sometimes there will be a chorus of us reminding him he needs "diversity training."

I think you have a good understanding of how it is here as it sounds very similar to your job! Thank you for your ideals!!! Yes, there is one guy in my department that'll say something at times, but most times he and the others don't say anything...but I'm so glad someone else on the outside gets it, most don't understand! I've been here 15 plus years, and I've worked in other factories and places before, I must admit this is like a whole different world in here, and I've never seen anything like it. I needed the boost each and everyone of you gave me and it is appreciated more than I can tell you! :)

It's been another one of those days where I'm frustrated and sooooo damned angry I could spit fire!!!!!! I am so stupid at times and its pathetic! Maybe its just this horrible heat wave we're experiencing, idk! Same crap just a different day! If I could fall asleep and not wake up ....never mind I'm letting things (people) get to me!

Girl don't let him get you down!

I have been told numerous times throughout my life that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'm too sensitive and I let things get at me too easily, well YES I DO!!!

And ha know what? I will always be like that, and that's ok! I am a loving, caring, warm individual who truly cares about other people and makes it a point to NEVER intentionally hurt another person(well I have when they really hurt my feelings). I like being sensitive and caring and don't want to change or have any thick skin lol

Point is, be who you are and tell him to F Off next time he wants you to sing, or better yet tell him to sing his fat head off! Jerk!

Good luck Dear!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
