I was reading some of the challenges and some wondering if their goals were realistic. For me I know I can loose 40 lbs in 8 weeks because 1. I am only 7 days post op as of today 2. I am heavier than many ladies here 3. The more you weigh you tend to loose more faster 4. I am competitive lol

Now if I were 2-6 months post op I would not have such an ambitious goal. I long for the day to be in Onederland which I haven't seen since college in 1993 when I lived in Bally's Total Fitness. I saw 176. My goal to reach in 2 years is 150 somewhere I have never seen before.

Good luck folks!

Msvickee, I long for onederland also, I know that we can achieve it! I am competitive also, and just let someone tell me I can't do something......and I will want it that much more.

Challenge yourself, too - challenge yourself to a reading list, to continue your counseling and visiting your nut - challenge yourself to tracking your foods - myfitnesspal is good...pick fun stuff to do (keep a list!!!) for the days you can't hit the gym.

Consider these challenges, too (or instead of) your lbs. lost - the weight will come off, and you will have gained alot of valuable habits, too.

I ditto Pookyism! She is right on target. this is a life changing transformation to healthier eating and exercise. Time to Rock the boat and look at the triggers you might encounter on the road to skinniness! This will help in a life long change of keeping the pounds off. :) I am in the process and have learned so much about myself. :) I too am competitive and do not like to admit it. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
