I Think I Hit The Stall :(

Recommended Posts

So prior to my post op appt on Tues I was losing roughly a lb a day...not too bad BUT since then I all of a sudden I gained 1.8lbs!! I am guessing this could probably be Water gain because finally over the last few days I have been able to get all my Protein in and I have been eating roughly 800-900 calories a day...I could probably stand to drink some more h2o which I will do today...but I just want to see if this is what everyone else has been going through...any thoughts???

Stalls are common for me but I have a metabolism problem that is genetic and meds don't help alot - the sleeve has saved me. I don't fret the stalls, now I just wait them out.

It probably will not be like this for you, but I have been in stalls, if you add them up, for about half the time since surgery - but I am still losing, and one thing I have noticed - I have nowhere near the saggy skin that I expected. The stalls have been a good thing in that way.

I can see the difference in pictures, but still feel bigger than I am - but check out my pics, if you would like- maybe reassure yourself this is possible even with stalls.

Good luck!

The weather right now, the high heat and humidity is causing many a stalls right now. You think - wow, it's hot out, i'm sweating, I'm going to lose weight...wrong. Sometimes the weather has a way of causing you to hold onto more Water.< /p>

I lost 1-2 pounds every few days. Every day I weighed less - even if it was 8 ounces less I weighed less or stayed the same. I am drinking the same amount of liquids. I will be 5 weeks out come Monday. I gained 1 pound on 450 calories and my exercise = erased all those calories. One day it said I weighed 211 the next day back down to 207 then the next few days I have been 208.2 - 208.8. I am back down to 207 but I can guarantee you after I just watered the yard just now I am back to 208.

The weather is often part of it. Eat & drink the way you are suppose to and eventually it will break. I first thought it was the full moon (I always weight more right before the full moon and right after) and that just happened too.

I feel you, I was about to pop for a bit yesterday because I'm like seriously it's been days on end without any movement, but the daily weight loss had to stop, and the stall has to end too.

Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
