Has Anyone Tried The Bariatric Snacks?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about trying some of the Protein chips or Snacks and was wondering if anyone has tried any yet? Which ones taste good and which ones should I stay away from?

Which ones first off, I've tried the cereals honey and coco, the meat Snacks bbq & original, and the chips sea salt & bbq. They are decent. You may wanna do the chips with ff sour cream or cottage cheese. Remember they do not taste like regular chips they may taste like styrafoam or a rice cake to u & u may not like em. If u looking for a Protein laced snack to ween yourself off of snacks its worth it, if u want a great snack comparable to potato chips and u crave that potato chip texture & taste, you maybe disappointed with baratric chips.

I've had the Crunch O's or something like that. They come in BBQ and sour cream and look like cheerios. Those are pretty good and the only ones I would really recommend. The pretzels aren't horrible either.

I tried the ostrich meat stick. I thought it was pretty good and has lots of Protein and even potassium. if you are someone that has low potassium levels its a great way to get some extra in.

I've tried several flavors of the Protein chips, and the texture is weird but crunchy, which is what I was craving. I liked them early on, but I am not getting them any more. I did not like the cheddar flavored stuff.

For salty Snacks, I've been relying on Jerky and nuts.

Thanks everyone, I have tried a few myself since. I tried something called the salsa sass which was really crunchy, the other ones were just ok. It did curb the craving though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
