Mrs Sabre 1 Posted August 31, 2006 After my second fill, I have 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band. I do have restriction. I am losing weight. I stay satisfied for about 3 hours after meals. I have about 1 cup (depending upon food density) average capacity. How do I know if I should have a little more fill? ... or not? Maybe I should wait longer at this level and then decide? Iulizbug 0 Posted August 31, 2006 As long as you are staying full for 3-4 hrs and are losing 1-2 lbs per week, there is no reason to get another fill. I only went in when my weight loss slowed down or stopped OR I was getting hungry faster than I should. I say if its working good, why fix it? ~Liz~ 03/10/06 241/169/160 5'7''
Dragonwillow 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Stay with your current fill....I KNOW from current experience that being over filled or too tight won't do anything but sabatoge the weight loss. I can't eat easily early in the day, so I tend to eat things that are soft...but not filling...so I'm really hungry in the evenings and I over do it. I did a little better today...actually managed almost a whole yogurt for Breakfast. Please don't try to rush it with a tighter fill...it will only make things harder. I got greedy and wanted to loose more than the 1 lb a week...and now I've gained 5 lbs since the last fill.
the best me 6 Posted September 1, 2006 Yup, good advice Karen. Hold out. Too tight stinks! And doesn't work.

La_madam 20 Posted September 1, 2006 I am losing weight. If it aint broken don't fix it ! If you are losing then you are doing something right, save your fills fo rwhen you stop losing on a consistent basis. You are working with the band and not relying on the band..this is how it is suppose to be done Good for you
gordonfamily3 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Karen - Dr V will probably not fill you becuase you are lossing weight and staying full for the 3 hours and keeping your meals around a 1 cup. I just got a little one last week becuase everything was where it needed to be except my weight loss. So the .1 he put in made a huge difference for me. I have already lost 3 pounds. Finally putting just over 90 pounds. So I think personally I would stay where you are and try it for another 3 - 6 weeks. You know he will see you when ever you want. :-)
sunsett 2 Posted September 1, 2006 YUP-He is wonderful and he will see you when ever you want. Like me yesterday I called Kim practically crying and in I went and.1 I got. But I hadn't gotten a fill in at least 4 months and the wl had stopped. Even if your only losing 1/2 a pound a week your still losing. I wasn't losing the scale went up at bit although today it was back down. But the fact that I have stayed the same for 4 weeks says hey get a fill. Take it slow and keep doing what your doing. I'm not at 1.5 cc and that maybe it for me.
mousecrazy 2 Posted September 1, 2006 I'd say stay where you are for a while. I've seen so many people regret a too tight fill...the only thing that will happen if you are not restricted enough is that the weight loss will be slow...that's not the worst thing that can happen. Mrs Sabre 1 Posted September 5, 2006 I left it up to the doctor. To my surprise, he said we have a little "wiggle room", and I got 0.2 cc more. Today is my first day back on full foods, and so far I'm doing great! :clap2:
sunsett 2 Posted September 5, 2006 Karen what day were you there? I was in on Thursday. Got .1 isn't Pam great!
Mrs Sabre 1 Posted September 5, 2006 I was there on Friday. Yes, Pam is great; although the fill Dr. V did in the hospital was about the same. That brings up a good question, can you feel your band? Unless I'm eating, I can't. I haven't felt a thing when they've done fills; am I suppose to feel my fills?
sunsett 2 Posted September 5, 2006 I don't think so. Since my fill my port has been gigglie but thats about it. I son't think we can feel our bands except for when we are full but that is just a full or uncomfortablt feeling not the band
