pattiV 0 Posted July 4, 2012 Had gastric sleeve five days ago. My main problem is GAS! I swear I am going to explode. I have taken gas x but you can only take 4 tabs a day. It shells for awhile than I am hit with severe gas pains again. I can't drink Water or eat. I am miserable. I have walked every day. Does anyone have any suggestions? Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 4, 2012 Yeah, Gas X strips. They gave me 2 or 3 at a time multiple times a day in the hospital. I don't think there is a limit on them. Also, walk, walk and walk some more. It helps. Best of luck to you. I hope you feel better real soon.

pattiV 0 Posted July 4, 2012 Ok I will get some. Thanks for the advise. Day 4 by far was the worst day ever. I think I am getting dehydrated. I try to drink but can't cuz I am so full of air. I try to suck on sf popsvicles and today started drinking warm Water which seems to help with the foam in my throat. The incisions are healing great. Just the gas, I will conquer this( I hope). W hen you are full of gas it is hard to breath.

pattiV 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I did drink pedi lite today and that got rid of the nasty Migraine that I got from dehydration as well as a low grade fever. I will try Gatorade too. Thanks. I am scared at what my life is going to be like since this gas is so bad. I just hope it goes away.
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 4, 2012 It will get better and you will be so happy you had this surgery. You are still in the very early stages of healing and it seems to be a time of emotional ups and downs for most people. Know that what you are feeling both physically and mentally is totally normal and one day it will all be a remote memory. Take care!
