Today marks my 2 week post op and I'm noticing I have been having trouble with my Vitamins. When I take all my vitamins, I'm full all day and very nauseous. So yesterday, I didn't take any vitamins and was able to eat and drink more and no nausea- so today just tried to take my first Vitamin of the day, and I threw it up! Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else? I just seem to feel so much better without them. And yes, I have tried taking them at night, I even tried taking a different vitamin every hour, to no avail.

Are they pills or gummies? Pill form Vitamins always make me throw up and I'm not even sleeved yet. You might want to try gummy vitamins or liquid vitamins and see if you have a better reaction.

You could try either a Flintstones chewable Vitamin or they make Gummi Multi Vitamins now. Maybe trying one of those would work better for you and interfere less with your stomach. Call your Doc and ask them if there is anything you could try also. I'm sure they've probably encountered this issue before.

Try breaking it up throughout the day. This has helped me not get nauseous when I take Vitamins. I take one every few hours just before I eat. Have a piece of cheese or a half of a slice of deli meet between meals to take one. It's too hard on my sleeve to take such dense vitamins And minerals at one time. It takes longer but I don't mind.

Bariatric formula vits make me feel ill. Flintstones seem to work. Perhaps the bariatric ones the doc sold me will work later on, I am 5 weeks out.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
