I took about 1 week off. I have a job where I sit so it was approved by my surgeon. She just wants everyone to get up and walk as much as possible. :)

Hopefully that's all I have to take off from work!

I was only out for less than a week. Had surgery on a Wednesday and returned to work on Tuesday. I only had pain and nausea for 2 days though! Good luck!!!

Hopefully that's all I would have to take off from work!

I just started a new job a few weeks ago, so I understand where you are coming from.

I am scheduled to have surgery on Sept 10th - my plan is to take one full week off and then work the next 2 weeks half days.

I really hope it works out!

I took off 3 weeks. I needed every bit of it. You really have to get use to eating again because it is so different after surgery.

Have you told the new job about your surgery or are you planning to wait until it's time?

Thanks, hopefully I can work and do this at the same time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
