Danielle Beadle 6 Posted July 2, 2012 How long are you not able to drive after surgery? I'm taking an accelerated anatomy and physiology class over the summer and its hard to make things up. I'm having surgery on the 12th which I'll miss lab on that day and the next tuesday would be the next time class meets and we have an exam. My class is about 45 mins away so I don't know if I will be able to drive since it will only be 5 days after surgery. Anybody have any insight?
MKambalimath 92 Posted July 2, 2012 I wasnt supposed to drive because of the pain meds and not for long because of possibility of blood clots. If youre not taking pain meds and youre not driving for more than a half hour or so, I would think you would be fine. Geez, I just read how its 45 mins away, lol. Your surgeon could probably tell you better then.
Krysty 11 Posted July 2, 2012 I asked my doctor the same question. After I told him I drove anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour each day for my job, he told me not to do it for at least 7 to 10 days after surgery. This is definitely a question you'll want to ask your doctor.
