I was also sleeved the 27th of June. I haven't had many problems but if I could ask one question it would be, what's okay to eat? Where I had my surgery done there weren't many before me SO when they brought me food for lunch and dinner it was a tray full of juice, coffee,Popsicles, sprite, and broths..it's Sunday and I'm now 5 days out I'm assuming it's still fluids but how much should I be shooting for?

Im on Clear Liquids for 7 days, then I can introduce fat free yogurt. Your surgeon didnt give you any type of idea. All Dr.'s are different. I basically wont be on a solid food for 2 months. Slow, but steady wins the race I suppose.

He said liquids but my definition of liquids and others in these threads seem to be different.. So far all I've done is Water Popsicles, some cranberry juice this morning and some vanilla ungery with milk... I haven't been paying attention at all to amounts but can tell when I've had just about enough.

I would call your Dr. just to make sure. It will never hurt to ask. sugar free everything is basically week one.... everyone is so different. Protein Shakes are my current issue. My Dr. wants 50-60mg of Protein per day & I cant even get in half of that... I do know that week 4 I can have egg white. Super excited about that.

definitely no carbonation!! so no soda, beer, carbonated Water, etc. You want to stick to sugar free liquids in week one, with the exception of your Protein Shakes. I'm doing unjery as well, and you need to get up to 60 g of Protein a day with 64 oz of liquid (including shakes). :) I've been living off of sugar free popsicles, unjery, and unsweetened iced tea! Starting this thursday I can eat scrambled eggs and pureed oatmeal/cream of wheat, but only 1/4 cup!

I haven't been doing anything sugar free because it sometimes causes Migraines. I'm hoping it doesn't slow my weightless...I think I'm doing okay so far 7 pounds since I went in for surgery..and I din't think my Protein mix is sugar free either..I should go check.

Honestly, I would stick to sugarfree and take the occasional tylenol! I would be really afraid of taking in so much sugar and calories after everything! I'm so surprised they didn't give you more information.

Right :) no beer(not a drinker ) and no soda which is why I was so confused when they had it on my tray! Thanks for the amounts, I'll for sure start paying more attention!

You know they honestly have only done a few before me. It didn't scare me because the surgeon is amazing but the only packet they gave me was specifically for gastric bypass and I know there are some differences being sleeved.

BigD, I didn't do sugar-free, either... at first, I used regular chocolate Syrup (only a little!) in my shakes (I had to make my own because I couldn't tolerate the powders or ready-to-drinks). Over time I have stopped using any sort of sweetener and only this week have I started adding Mio and other sugar-free flavorings back into things--I need to be sure to get enough Water, and the Mio lemonade and sugar-free Torani raspberry syrup make Water taste SO GOOD!

My point is, do what you can do now. You won't be able to drink tons of calories, so if you have some regular Gatorade and you tolerate that well, just water it down a bit to cut the calories. If you feel comfortable moving to artificial sweeteners, great. I was concerned about it, actually, which is why I had avoided them for so long, but I seem to be just fine without any headaches--come to think of it, a lot of things that used to cause Migraines don't now that I've lost the weight. Yay sleevie!!

Best wishes to you!!

I get Migraines from sugar free too but if you limit it to just one sugar-free item it isn't so bad.

Truvia does not cause migraines, so I basically stick with that.

I get shots in my head for migraines, but sprite? Really that just about freaked me out.

I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow and I'm still only allowed Liquids!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
